Canterbury Church

The church began in 597AD when St. Augustine established his seat in Canterbury. It gained its fame in 1170 when Archbishop Thomas Becket was murdered in his own cathedral by King Henry II's knights. Since then, it has attracted thousands of pilgrims as told in Geoffrey Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. It is still standing today and it is one of the most famous cathedrals in the world.
